HAI and Infection Control in Hospitals

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

What are some infection controls in hospitals? Controlling and reducing the spread of infection can be done if hospitals have strict hospital infection policies and procedures.  Hospital maintenance management teams must make sure that the surface that you are likely to come in contact with, which are often the medium of spreading the infection, should be disinfected as regularly as possible. The use of antibiotic as well must be given within caution to avoid further damages. Hospitals must be very strict when it comes to the sanitation and cleanliness of the premises. However, the threat would come and do so we really have to protect ourselves at all time. We should observe frequent and correct way of hand washing because it is an effective way of keeping away from infections. Proper hand washing is an important component of infection control in hospitals.

Duct Cleaning Advices

Generally, people who are allergic to dust or suffering from asthma should do it once a year but you are way off your air duct cleaning schedule. You must do it.
You can ask following questions related to their work
- Do they use a system where all of the vacuum equipment is outside of your hose (normally, it is truck mounted).
-A caution: Services from big chains/franchise does not mean good work. I would rather get a local guy that has been doing air duct cleaning for long time.

-Ask them how many crew members will be working on it (preferred 2 people)

Once every 1-2 years is sufficient and in your case you should definitely do it. I am sure that this is one of the contributing factors in your house getting dusty.
